Improve your company’s efficiency by hiring the right people for your open positions! In other words, as an employer, you should take your hiring process very seriously. The quality and appropriateness of your staff can determine how well your business operates and what it is able to accomplish—just as having the wrong employees can hinder your growth and progress. So, what can you do?

Three Ways to Improve Your Recruitment

  1. Be clear. What skills, education and qualifications does an employee need to be a perfect candidate for your open position? Take the time to clearly define these, and you’ll have a much easier time finding the right person for the job. For one, it will help job seekers reviewing your ad to know what you are looking for. Also, if you’re working with a recruiter, he or she will be able to locate the best employee match.

  2. Get “testy.” That’s right: as part of the interview process, give candidates an exam. You can design the test yourself, asking questions that will prove whether or not the candidate knows his or her stuff. You can also use preexisting exams, such as the Wonderlic intelligence test, or the Myers-Briggs to determine the candidate’s match with your corporate culture.

  3. Team up. Invite a colleague to interview candidates with you. Choose a member of the department for which you’re hiring, a member of human resources, or someone from senior management. This way, you can share your impressions afterwards and get a second opinion to help decide on the best candidate.

Consider a Staffing Partner.
To help you find great workers quickly and efficiently, consider working with a staffing firm. Recruiters are experts at what they do and can help you locate, interview, hire and train a new employee in record time. Plus, recruiters have access to a huge database of candidates, helping you find the perfect fit.
